Captain Straywolf

Idealistic pirates... Sailors who just want to be in the seas, enjoying the sea spray, the days of being out there in the nowhere... But basically free from all judgement, from laws and from prying eyes of those who love to judge... Free from all troubles, keeping their loyalty and lives to one single common lover - the Seas - the Tempest who could be so gentle at times, and be so rough at times, always unpredicatable... Only making port once awhile to sate their loneliness... Other than that, RUM is the cure for everything...

Ahoy, comes the wolf wearing the Captain's hat... struggling to find its "sea paws"... Captain Stray.

Looking forward...

The brambles cried out their outrage. They had kept it hidden from the main path for so long. They had kept it protected when it was half dead from the others' attacks.

Yet they dripped blood, the blood of the wolf. In exchange for refugee, it would sustain itself from the blood of the wolf. It would induce the wolf into a dream where promises happened, when it dreamt of itself lying next to the moonflower.

The wolf had awakened from its slumber bit by bit, sedated and weak. Yet it had moved out from the brambles. It was a refugee, where dreams could happen. But the dreams were pushed onto it by the brambles, not itself. There was nothing in the dreams that it would want from the brambles.

The wolf lowered its great head for a moment in gratitude that the brambles had allowed it to stay alive. But it was time for the wolf to move on its path. Be it if there is no moon flower, it is a choice that it makes itself, rather than when it was broken, and weak and sedated from what it really wants.

The road ahead will be fraught with dangers. But it is able to to meet it straight on now for it knows it will run for the things it wants, where dreams are not imposed by the brambles...

The return

It almost passed the path it had stayed off for so long. If not for its familiar smell, it would not have identified it. Its head drooped as it stumbled into the path.

Long was the goal of it finding the moon flower. Years had passed but the moon flower has not appeared. It only appeared in tell-tale glimpses. Once it had entered the illusion that the moon flower was right before it, only to realise at the very end, the illusion was just a naive illusion it wanted.

So it had shrugged off the vines that bound it, tearing fur and skin apart just to break it. It is determined. And finally emerged on the path. The vines trembled at its escape but it did not turn back to look and headed on its path which had always been beckoning it in its heart.

The 3rd Party Mentality

Rambling on without a fixed purpose... Trying to get people on the same boat by imposing one's life perspectives on others...

Bad points for a presenter the wolf thought. Or rather, the wolf is not in the same pack, stalking in the vast jungle alone.

In the forest, there are the animals. The type of animals will be the manifestation of the different people with different perspectives. If the animals are in their flock, that represents their groups' common perspectives.

For example, the Silverapes will be those who thought themselves to be the majestic ones among the rest. Their governing factor will be the leading Silverape where those in the pack will follow the leader without any major doubt. Or there can also be the elephants, the Titans in the forest yet bound by their guileless mindsets. (You do know that a trained full-grown elephant thinks itself incapable of pulling itself free from its chain to a small wooden peg in the ground because of the conditioning from the external factors where in this case would be the society, or the propaganda around the individual.)

Then of course, different forests may represent the various bigger organisations, such as nations or even world organisations.

For the Straywolf, it belongs to no pack. Once awhile, there will be the other packs of wolves, or apes, or elephants which will call out to it, inviting it into their ranks, promising an end to its solitude where there will be the sense of comradery, affirmation, recognition, achievement waiting for it to experience. Yet as the Straywolf finds out, it always returns to its path which destination or purpose could only be understood by itself.

In its eyes, no pack's purpose is as great. No forest is as great. Its destiny lies in traveling through the vast land, through the vast forests in search of its true destiny while it will continue its wanderlust in freedom - a 3rd party mentality (free but detached from others).

Humans are lonely creatures

Why do I say this?

What history which has been recorded in the history or passed down by the culture of mankind indicated a symbiosis of mankind and Earth itself. Animals and plants play a more direct role in the humans’ communities then. Man was never far off from nature.

Then technology came. Automobiles and trains replaced the horses, buffalos, and mules. Abattoirs removed the majority of humans to hunt for their own food and to kill in order to survive. In large, Mankind lost their ever-constant contact with nature itself.

The one thing which got me pondering was the implication of Mankind losing that close link with Nature. We may have lost precious lessons which Nature can inspire – to preserve, to appreciate life, and to appreciate companionship.

Is the implication apparent in today’s society? Do some of us do outrageous things just to gain recognition from others? Are we are detached in a way which can be shown in some of our outrageous treatment to animals?

Is what I say too far-fetched? If I am a fool to ask such questions, so it shall be.

The change in era

An era has not passed yet...

Yet... the wolf could feel the change in its brittle ancient bones...

Of the four entities,

War has been tamed...

Pestilence domesticated...

Two remain as the last of their unique kind.

Moving on...

How does one move on when everyone is gone?

Once the wolf has fought to be stronger and fought to be meaner, for the purpose of assuring those who care for it that it is alright on its own. It chose its path carefully based on its wish and others' wishes upon it.

Yet now that those who have cared for it have moved on, it has lost half the motivation for whatever it has done. Yes, it has become stronger. Yes, it is smarter. Yet there is no one to acknowledge that.

Those who acknowledged were the harsh plains, deserts, and forests ahead. The environment would acknowledge its strength to walk among them, without being hunted. It may have lost its motivation and purpose, but the strength within it remains a certainty...
